2. Sing the song "Unicorn in my manger"

This is the music video for the song in your book. You can find the lyrics at the very back of the book. Pick up your book and sing along. The song should be fun and create good feelings in you. Music in general is especially good for awakening different feelings in you, because it stimulates the regions in your brain that are responsible for your feelings. With soft piano sounds we can relax very well. With a fast and good beat, we want to move. With this song, we primarily want to create happy feelings in you! And if it’s fun, you’ll listen especially attentively and probably try to sing along with the lyrics. This will also help you to develop your language skills. Just by the way, just for the fun of it!

3. Reflect on the content you have read

Dear parents, thank you so much for buying our book! We appreciate it very much! With every book you buy or give as a gift our world becomes a good bit more colorful! Keep up the good work! As I’m sure you’ve noticed as parents, the book „Unicorn Bella in the manger“ is full of surprises: Doing crafts, singing along, dancing along and of course reading. Our goal is to inspire children and encourage them on as many levels as possible with a focus on fun! Fine motor skills, concentration, imagination, language and joy, all these areas are trained through play. Take it a step further with us and specifically encourage your child’s language comprehension, concentration and imagination by asking a few questions about the text! This could look like this, for example:

Why is Bella suddenly recognizable as a unicorn in the last picture in the manger?

Child: Because a miracle happened!

Adult: You are right, a miracle happened with the birth of Jesus.

Maybe it also has to do with Bella and Jesus winking at each other. After all, Jesus knows everything, including that unicorns exist! That’s why he can recognize Bella as one!

How many sheep get a colorful coat from Bella?

Child: Seven!

Adult: But I count eight, my darling!

Child: Oh mom, the one with the horns is not a sheep! That is a ram!

Adult: In that sense, of course you’re right!

Why is unicorn Bella suddenly a donkey later in the book?

Child: Because she ate too many magic apples!

Adult: Maybe. It could also have to do with Joseph and Mary not knowing that unicorns exist and therefore not believing in them.

Which objects or animals change their appearance due to Bella’s magic spell?

The gold coins of the goblin! The fish in the pond!

The sheep! The mud! The flowers in the meadow! Their hoofprints in the sand! The crib itself!

How many butterflies do you spot on this page?

Seven!

What do you think would happen to you if Unicorn Bella touched you with her magic horn?

I can fly and I grow a colorful horn!
